Early Career Travel Award
ARP is dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Specifically, ARP is committed to maximizing the representation of diversity within our field, mentoring and advising “best practices” that support both faculty and student success in the field of personality psychology, and identifying and rectifying challenges in the personality psychology community within the context of diversity and inclusion.
With these goals in mind, ARP created a Early Career Travel Award in 2018 that supports the participation of graduate students from historically marginalized communities. These communities include, but are not limited to, ethnic and racial minorities, LGBTQ2 students, first-generation college students, and students with a disability/special needs. Graduate students and post-doctoral scholars who self-identify as a member of a marginalized community are eligible to apply for the award. Awardees are selected on the basis of both their diversity statement and their academic record. The award supports free registration to the 2019 ARP conference, as well as up to $500 to cover conference-related travel costs.
