I am pleased to report that ARP is quite strong. We currently have a roster
of 180 registered members, which is larger than our 2007 membership, and
that has put us financially on quite solid ground. Our preconference has
always brought a bump in new memberships, and with the newly independent
conference in the summer of 2009, I am hopeful that the organization will
continue to grow.
One exciting change that members can look forward to is a transition to a
professional membership management system, 123signup.com. Our current system
is a patchwork various web applications, Paypal, Excel spreadsheets, and a
boot stuffed with cash and chucked in the corner of my office. (Just kidding
about that last part.) The new system will allow us to have a more smoothly
integrated system to handle our membership, conference, and financial
records. It will also hopefully smooth and speed the payment process when
you register for membership or conferences. Look for updates in the coming
months.
